After a year of fighting crackpots, logical fallacies, pompous claims, a few loopy commentators, my ego and my stuttering, lets have a truce for a few days. I am looking forward to more fighting next year!

Hi Tom, Firstly, can I say what a great blog this is. Secondly, can I very humbly put forward a little suggestion (which you can of course, throw right put)to help make this blog even better?
Well, as you say.... "After a year of fighting crackpots, logical fallacies, pompous claims, a few loopy commentators, my ego and my stuttering, lets have a truce for a few days."
And that is what my suggestion is -you seem to do a lot of fighting. A lot of attacking, and discrediting. Of course, that is one of the purposes of this wonderful blog. But if the tone was more friendly, and less aggressive and judgemental about others, then this blog would win lots more readers.
Just my two-pence worth - you can obviously tell me to go to hell. :-)
Tom, Merry Christmas and a very happy new year from TISA in India.. Dont dilute your tone. Even if you go a little over board (according to some)- it is still fine. It forces people to come out and defend what they are saying and what many PWS are going to believe implicitly. There was a poet (Kabir) in medieval India, who blasted mercilessly the pompous but meaningless practices of Islam and Hinduism, the two major faiths of the time. The massess still remember him and sing his couplets- because he dared to remind the clergy, what was essential in a spiritual life- and what was merely ritual, peripheral.. He is remembered more than those scholars who wrote learned commentaries.. I enjoy your blog. BTW, you are welcome to give me a crackpot award for this comment! sachin for TISA
Tom, I understand Harry's comments, but I agree with Sachin. Keep up the aggressive tone and continue to name and shame the people who have been misinforming and cheating people for years. Trying not to hurt people's feelings sounds great, but to bring about real change you will have to step on some toes. The NSA, SFA, ASHA, and other organizations have been allowing these crackpots to work unchecked and have been afraid to challenge them (the only exception is Ley Geddes at the BSA).
